FAQ
Why get a measured frame and truss takeoff instead of relying on the merchant?
Time, Cost & Quality. Carpentry takeoffs are completed by a Quantity Surveyor with an extensive Carpentry background which ensures you dont leave anything on the table. Waiting days instead of weeks for a takeoff may also tip the scales in whether or not you are able to submit a price at all.
What's included in a carpentry frame and truss takeoff — does it cover the full structural package?
Yes. The takeoff covers wall framing, prefabricated roof trusses, floor joists, LVL beams and lintels, valley members, blocking, bracing, strapping, joist hangers, and fixings — all itemised by size, grade, and treatment specification. If the structural engineer has called out specific members, those are captured separately so nothing gets left behind.
Does the frame and truss takeoff include labour pricing or just quantities?
It can be either. It will be more cost effective for you to have the labour component rated alongside the takeoff considering the carpentry scope has already been pulled out.
What’s the typical turnaround time and what format do I receive the carpentry takeoff in?
Most brickwork takeoffs are turned around in about 3-5 working days, depending on drawing complexity and workload. You’ll receive the schedule in Excel & PDF, plus marked-up plans of any ambiguous scope so its clear what scope is included in the price.
